Borneo: Afternoon Spelunking

That afternoon, we drove on to the Fairy cave. To enter the cave, you climb a stair case building...

From the inside of the cave.

The front part of the cave.

More cave pics (thanks to Emily and Suza for some great cave pics)...

We had heard that you could walk back in the cave so armed with one flashlight and a cell phone we headed on back.

Noah was very excited about the difference between stalagmites (which push up with all their might) and stalactites (which hold on tight). Once he understood which was which he pointed to each and excitedly told us which one it was.

Noah and I think Suza heading into the cave. Noah was a bit frightened of the dark at first but then he got into the spirit of it and had fun walking around looking for stalactites and stalagmites and rickety stairs and bridges.

Looking back out.

After quite an adventure, we finally saw some light on the other side.

Noah sitting (a bit muddied) on the deck all the way at the end of the cave.

Walking back to the entrance.

Arrrrr....

After the fairy cave we grabbed lunch at a market and Noah grabbed a nap in the car and we headed to the next cave, the wind cave which was also the home of many cute little bats.
