We are baaaaaack! Week 1: Sleeping and Eating

So life has been good these past two months...getting to know our little Maya and becoming a real family of four. We also had some great family visits and somehow we got behind on the blog and then just stopped posting.

Maya was born at 35 weeks and it seems her first three weeks she spent catching up - sleeping and eating, peeing and pooping and every once in a while she would be awake and appear very concentrated and alert. She seemed so easy - you could put her down anywhere and she would just sleep and sleep and sleep (that's when I updated the blog last!). At night she slept in her bassinet by our bed and would sleep 3-4 hour stretches, feed and go back to sleep immediately (though she was quite a loud sleeper what with all the gurgles and funky noises). I was thinking to myself - wow - I remember it being a bit harder than this! Noah took it all very well and was super sweet with his sister.

Below are some pictures from the first week.

sleeping on Daddy - one of her favorite places to sleep during the day

sleeping in her bouncer seat - here she looks small...

and here is the big picture... she looks TINY

Sleeping in her "parc" with her kangaroos

stretching

.... and back to sleep (with a little smile - she sleep smiled a lot)!

sleeping on her playmat...

back on Daddy!

time for a weigh in

same method we used with Noah (here at 2 weeks and just above 3kg - Maya did not make it to 3kg till she was over one month)

Um... this seems scary

Are you sure it's ok maman? Big brother helping out

So tiny...

Wow - that was tough - time for a nap!

the umbilical cord (which she lost at one week)

Lhasa napping too...

she's awake - she's awake and looking at her card

he is so sweet with her

more card contemplation

dinner time... like with Noah, we bring Maya to eat with us if she is awake

  1. Touchant de découvrir Noah en grand frère. Le début d'une belle complicité.

  2. Comme vous me faîtes rire avec votre balance improvisée. So smart guys. Je n'ai jamais osé essayer... ça me semblait trop bancal. A tort apparemment.
