Twitter: April 2011

April 1: The dentist said I had teeth! 16 cavity-free well spaced teeth. And I was a good boy. I opened my mouth, said "ahhh" and did not even bite!

April 1: I got a big boy toothpaste with fluoride, a toothbrush and a little toy (which makes lots of noise) at the dentist's. Overall a good visit.

April 1: When I got back from the dentist's I had a hoop installed in my closet. Grandpa Bob, maybe some day I will be able to shoot hoops with you. I am working on it!

April 1: Dancing with gros toutou at Audrey's (Audi's).

April 1: Off to school with my new cap.

April 1: Hmmm my cap is a bit big but I should soon grow into it. Why do I always seem to be between sizes?

April 1: Noah quote: "Daddy eat that" (handing over a carrot stick to my Daddy).

April 2: Hugs to my GG today. Can't wait to see you.

April 4: I like helping out in the kitchen. This weekend, we made gnocchi. First, I washed the potatoes. I have a great technique I call "pet the potato".

April 4: Then, I rolled out the potato flour mixture and cut it into little pieces.

April 4: Before I could taste the result of my hard work, we had a little pipi emergency. Dupondt just had to use the pot.

April 4: Hmmm, not bad.

April 4: Stopping for some sliding on my way home from school.

April 7: My teachers told me I am a very happy and sociable little boy. Guess my charm technique is working.

April 7: The other day, I came home from school with a little booklet...

April 7: Inside were some collages and drawings I made (with a little help from my teachers).

April 7: After his pipi emergency the other day, Dupondt has started wearing diapers again. I had to change a particularly dirty one.

April 7: I took Dupondt to do pipi on the pot...

April 7: Then I cleaned him up...

April 7: And put on a new clean diaper.

April 7: Then I read Tintin to Lhasa (I am really getting into the Tintin books especially when maman does the funny voices).

April 7: Good night everybody. I am off to bed.

April 8: Daniel came over yesterday and we had a playdoh party.

April 8: And shot some hoops. Bravo Daniel!

April 8: And played some music.

April 8: And sang some songs. The wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round...

April 8: The doors on the bus go open...

April 8: And shut. I learned this song at school and maman was very surprised that I could sing and sign along.

April 8: Finally, I showed him my tunnel. He really liked my decorations.

April 8: But most of all, we liked crawling into it at the same time and laughing and laughing together.

April 8: Can't wait to see my grandma, grandpa and aunt Suza TOMORROW :)

April 10: They are here! We took a boat tour of the quays.

April 10: What did they do with my fish cat (aka the merlion)?

April 10: Yum, yum - the best egg tarts in Singapore. Are those all forme? Pleeeeaaaaase.

April 10: Doing a little shopping in Chinatown.

April 10: Today I turned 21 months! I got all kinds of new outfits from my family and Ophelia. Thank you!

April 10: Suza, Suzzzzaaaaa. Where are you? They just got here and now they are gone. But I am told in four days I get to see them again at the beach.

April 10: For the past few days, I haven't liked going to sleep alone. Tonight maman told the monsters "oust oust" & I laughed and fell asleep alone.

April 11: Big hugs to my grandpa today. Can't wait to see you in THREE days.

April 12: To celebrate my 21st month, I will walk you through a typical day in the life of 21 month old Noah.

April 12: I wake up between 7 & 8, have my Australian milk (180ml) and then depending on the time, either play for a bit or just get ready for school. It should be easier now that my uniform has arrived.

April 12: Around 8:15 I stroller on over to school with maman and sometimes dada or auntie Charmie.

April 12: The first thing I do when I get to school is to say hello to the giraffe.

April 12: At school, we sing songs, dance, draw, play with playdoh, play in the outside playground and... play with water.

April 12: I also eat a lot at school. They give me breakfast when I arrive (generally rice porridge), then a fruit snack and then lunch around 11:45.

April 12: Maman picks me up around 12:30 and I say goodbye to the giraffe and to my teachers.

April 12: I usually walk home. Off I go.

April 12: On the way, I love to press elevator buttons (or attempt to do so). I get to take three elevators on my way home.

April 12: Bye bye school playground and bikes.

April 12: On my way home, I play various games - here I have stopped at a picnic table and am ordering some imaginary mango after eating some imaginary sushi.

April 12: Mmmm that is good.

April 12: Hello frog. Along the way, I pass a market mascot.

April 13: And of course, when the weather permits, I stop at the playground.

April 13: The castle is under siege. As I walk across, I sidestep the big balls rolling down the bridge. Attention here comes another one!

April 13: Then I help the gremlins pick up their trash and put it into garbage cans.

April 13: Hello tricycle with the bee (abeille, abeille).

April 13: Hello tricycle. Off to the next adventure.

April 13: Hello pink motorcycle. Oh the motorcycle turned into a giraffe. I feed it some leaves and then move on to the other animals in my imaginary zoo (tiger, gorilla, elephant...)

April 13: After picking three bananas, I feed them to the gorilla.

April 13: I then get some money at my favorite ATM.

April 13: Home sweet home. I get home around 1:30 and take a one hour nap (it only takes 10mn to walk home but with all the games it takes an hour!)

April 13: When I wake up from my nap, I head off to a playdate (Mon. with Kathryn or Katy as I call her, Tues. with Jeanne and Matthias, Wednesday with Audrey (Audy), Thursday with Daniel (Daniel), and Friday to the pool. Here I am with Katy at the Tiong Bahru playground.

April 13: I like bartering. I find the technique generally works to get what I want.

April 13: Maman, Maman, is it her turn or my turn to go down the slide? I think it's "a Noah".

April 13: After a nice snack of powder milk (150ml) and some veggies, fruit or puffs, and some more playing, I say goodbye to Katy and head back home.

April 13: At home I sing some songs with Maman (this was taken about two weeks ago - Maman had just taught me the song minutes before) and read some books.

April 13: I have gotten pretty good at singing Baabaa Black Sheep (with words), the alphabet song, Old McDonald and Twinkle Twinkle.

April 13: On this particular Monday, Audy came over for a surprise visit. I was so excited. I am always asking for Audy Audy

April 13: And made and decorated some rattles out of rice, little plastic cups, tape, paper and stickers.

April 13: I have dinner with Maman and Daddy somewhere between 7 and 8pm.

April 13: Then play in my room and read a bit with Daddy.

April 13: I am off to bed around 9:00-9:15. First, I read a book while drinking milk (powder 210ml). Then I brush my teeth while singing abc or baba.

April 13: Then I read either goodnight moon/gorilla with Dad or bonne nuit with Maman, set my rabbit clock and fall asleep with my music. Good night!

April 13: And there you have it! A day in the life of 21 mo old Noah. For the stats, I am 89cm & 13.4kg. Seems like I got tall genes from Grandpa Bob.

April 13: Compared to last month, I am again speaking more and more and saying more and more complex thoughts. So much fun for me and my parents.

April 13: I also have figured out (with mam's help though she may come to regret it) how to take off my pull-ups.

April 13: It's great to go potty but yesterday I did so in bed to protest nap time. You should've seen Mam's face when she saw me standing naked in bed.

April 13: One addendum to the bedtime routine: I take a shower before drinking my milk.

April 13: It seems I was not entirely clear...I did not pee in bed just took off my diaper and stood there naked. Maybe I should try peeing next time!

April 14: Waiving hello to Audy and examining the fish while waiting for Audy and her maman to come down. The 2-3 yr old clothes are still a bit big but I am growing into them.

April 14: I am off to Phuket to meet up with Aunt Suza and my grandparents. I am so excited to take a "petit avion" and to see them again.

April 15: View from my crib in Phuket. Not too shabby!

April 18: I am safely back home after a fun trip to Phuket. Pics to come.

April 19: On day one, we played on the beach. I had a wonderful time jumping the wavelets, playing ball and floating around  with Suza, GG, Grandpa and Daddy and Maman.

April 19: After a strenuous morning on Kata beach, I took a nap in my crib.

April 19: Off to lunch with Aunt Suza.

April 19: Mmmmm rice.

April 19: Drawing some imaginary food while waiting for the real thing to show up during dinner. I am a big fan of imaginary food for myself and all around me (including the animals in my imaginary zoo).

April 19: On day two, we took a boat trip out to various islands. I very much enjoyed the boat...

April 19: But fell asleep...

April 19: And again...

April 20: I woke up just in time to go visit the caves with everyone.

April 20: Maman and I in front of the beautiful body of water at the other side of the cave.

April 20: Back in the boat, the scenery was gorgeous.

April 20: Trying on Suza's Alta cap. Pretty cute no?

April 20: Playing patty-cake with my GG over lunch.

April 20: At our lunch spot, there was a beautiful bird I kept going to see.

April 20: After lunch, we went to Khai island for some snorkeling and beach going. I got to play with my GG and Grandpa and Aunt Suza in the sand.

April 20: The sand was the perfect consistency to make castles and towers.

April 20: The barnacles on the rocks were very intriguing.

April 20: Playing with maman in the water.

April 21: After all this playing, we got back on the boat for some watermelon. Mmmmmmm.

April 21: Oh look, a camel and a whale! On the way back to Phuket, we saw many animals.

April 21: That evening, there was a beautiful sunset.

April 21: Suza and I in front of the sunset.

April 21: Playing I've got your mouth...

April 21: The next day, I played in the water for a long long time, jumping the waves and splashing about.

April 21: Trying on GG's hat. [I am told that I look a lot like my Daddy at my age in this photo.]

April 21: Bye bye beach and water. I had a great time.

April 21: Portrait of a Visitor: Cuddling with GG, Grandpa and Aunt Suza (17-23 April 2011).

April 23: On Monday (18.04.2011), I got all dressed up for dinner. I even tried out Aunt Suza's cool glasses but I think they were a bit too big.

April 23: Isn't life just grand?

April 23: I found it!

April 23: Now that I found it, I am not giving it back...

April 23: Unless...

April 23: On Wednesday, we went to the zoo and got to see the lions up close.

April 23: Taking a break from looking at the animals for some refreshments.

April 23: I even saw a bat pee. That was quite exciting as they have to open their wings and flip around before they can pee.

April 23: That evening, I played catch with my grandpa and GG with my new orange ball.

April 25: On Thursday (21.04), we went to the Singapore Flyer. Grandpa and I had fun visiting the exhibit leading up to the ride.

April 25: On the flyer, posing for GG.

April 25: Grandpa, that big building behind us is the boat aka the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. Isn't it a funny building?

April 25: Maman, I think something is wrong with my glasses ("lunettes" as I call them).

April 25: With GG at Ku De Ta on top of the boat hotel.

April 25: With GG and Grandpa at Ku De Ta.

April 25: Hugging my new-found friend at the top of the boat hotel.

April 25: The next day, we went to Orchard and the botanical gardens. Here we are posing with some people.

April 25: That evening, I played horsey with Grandpa again....

April 25: .... and again.

April 25: I also played with GG and her iPhone, iPad and Kindle. Such great toys. I want one of those cute iPads.

April 25: GG, Grandpa and Suza got me a train with colorful blocks. I can't quite put it together again but I love trying.

April 25: I also loved rolling the train under the bridge (aka my Grandpa).

April 25: Bye "Dgi Dgi", "Ampa" & "Auntie Suza". I had such fun with you & miss you terribly. I often ask for you all by name.

April 25: Of note during and since the Phuket trip, I have been using a big boy toilet to pee and wiping myself with paper afterwards.

April 25: Noah Quote of the Day ("NQ"): "Yata (Lhasa) eat banana et coconut" said as I ran around after Lhasa trying to feed her imaginary fruit.

April 25: Sometimes I ask to go to the pot & sometimes I just go between diapers. I have also started having a little naked time which I enjoy.

April 25: Also of note is that I have become a bit crankier during meals and generally more assertive in my likes/wants/dislikes. The fun continues!

April 26: This past weekend, Maman and I picnicked in the grass after playing in the Alexandra Canal Linear Park. I was quite hungry as I had walked a lot and tested many different playgrounds.

April 26: My parents had not noticed it, but I had been eying this motorcycle for a while. They thought I was heading for the fruit stand....

April 26: Today, I had a playdate with Kvir and Matthias. We had so much fun pushing each other around in the wagon and playing with the train sets.

April 26: For the first time, someone other than a family member put me to bed tonight! I was a good boy though and went right to sleep. Thanks Charmie.

APril 27: NQ: Noah, what is this? (pointing at a pic of a hat). Me: "chapeau hat".

April 28: Happy birthday, great grandpa!
