Saigon Part 1 (9.10.2012): Driving and Dancing

Our first day in Saigon, we headed straight for a Banh Mi (Vietnamese baguette sandwich) hole in the wall which happened to be near a playground. After a delicious lunch, we stopped at the playground. Noah took the train (and I waved at him...).

And drove the fish - for the record, these rides were (unsurprisingly) super super cheap and well worth the few dongs they cost.  He had a blast.

Saigon is much more modern than Hanoi with many more tall buildings, wide French-looking avenues and deluxe stores and even better, more refined restaurants. There clearly still is a difference between the North and South of the country.

That evening, before dinner, we headed to the hotel bar on the roof of the building. While we sipped our drinks, Noah took to the stage where he danced....

And danced... and danced. At first nobody noticed him but after a while people started smiling, laughing and clapping. I left this whole video clip (and this is just a clip - he was up there much longer than this video) because it vaguely demonstrates how long he was up there dancing in the light and loving every minute of it.
